On every long brevet ride the rider is expected to carry a card (or brevet) that is stamped or signed along the way to record his or her progress. At the end of the ride, the card is handed back to the organiser and forwared to les Randoneurs Mondiaux for ratification and recording.
The President of les Randonneurs Mondiaux is charged with keeping a record of the brevets ratified. As a result the homologations are organised by Presidential term.
Currently (December 2009) the records prior to 2007 are being reformatted and will be available in January 2010.
